A Rockmart man was booked into the Paulding County Jail on Thursday night, charged with multiple felonies including murder in the death of three individuals on March 21 in western Paulding County with a Rockmart address.

Justin Quartez Sims, 29, of 119 Pearl Street, Rockmart, was taken into custody by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday morning, and was later booked into the jail in the evening.

A second suspect, Bridgette Skye Jones, 28, of a Douglasville address, was also arrested in connection to Sims’ arrest for three counts of concealing the death of another and a single count for hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.

Officials have confirmed that this Sims was the second suspect being sought in the shooting deaths of Clinton Matthew Aiola, 42, of Rockmart (Paulding County,) Cody Daniel Fuller, 30, of Dallas and Davauntee Anthony Ramsay, 30, of Rockmart (Paulding County.)

Deputies along with US Marshals took Carlos Favors-Battle, 26, of Douglasville into custody on March 24 not long after the shooting, and a manhunt continued until Thursday night.

Sims thus far faces charges of two counts of murder with malice, three counts of murder during the commission of a felony, two counts of aggravated assault – rape, aggravated assault with intent to rape/murder/rob, and possession of firearm/knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies unlaw.

Sims is being held without bond set at this time. Jones, who was taken into custody on April 1, remained in jail as well without bond.

Favors-Battle was still in the Paulding County Jail without a bond on three counts of malice murder, three counts of murder during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, three counts of aggravated assault with intent to rob/murder, convicted felons, first offender probationers, possession of firearms prohibited, and a probation violation warrant.

Deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and Deputy United States Marshals with the US Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFT) arrested one of the suspects in this case on March 24, 2022. Paulding Deputies and Deputy US Marshals arrested Carlos Favors-Battle (B/M, 26 YOA) in Douglasville, GA (Douglas County) where he resides. He is currently being held in the Paulding County Jail without bond.

Deputies and Deputy US Marshals arrested two other individuals in this case as well. On April 1, 2022, Bridgette Skye Jones (W/F, 28 YOA) was arrested by Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office without incident. Jones was subsequently transported to the Paulding County Jail. It must be noted that Jones was in the area of the murder scene when the crime occurred and had direct knowledge of the incident.

On April 6, 2022, US Marshals arrested Justin Quartez Sims (B/M, 29 YOA) in Rome, Georgia without incident. Sims was subsequently transported to the Paulding County Jail as well. Detectives have determined that Sims was the other individual that accompanied Favors-Battle into the home when the murder occurred.

The three suspects are charged with the below listed offenses. It must be noted that all three are being held in the Paulding County Jail without bond.

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (F)

  • Probation Violation Warrant

  • 3 Counts Malice Murder (F)
  • 3 Counts -Murder During the Commission of a Felony (F)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (F)
  • 3 Counts Aggravated Assault With Intent to Rob/Murder (F)

  • 3 Counts Concealing the Death of Another (F)
  • Hindering Apprehension of a Fugitive (F)

It is also very likely that additional charges could be taken against all three suspects in this case.
