PAULDING COUNTY — The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office announced more information about remains found last week on Mt. Olivet Road in Western Paulding County.

The September 22 discovery of remains reported by Paulding County officials last week brought in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for further help with the case, and they announced this evening on social media that the skeletal remains found were those of an adult male.

“The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner and Forensic Anthropologist is still working diligently along with Detectives and Agents to determine the identity of the male decedent,” their release stated in a posting on social media today.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for their help in gaining further information on the remains of the man found in rural Paulding County, and ask anyone with a tip to call 770-443-3047, or use the free Paulding Sheriff Mobile App for information about the case.

Last week, the remains were found by a property owner on a rural piece of land on Mt. Olvet Road, which is located north of Highway 278 between Dallas and the Paulding County Airport.

State and local investigators have been going through local and area missing person cases to determine an identity, but none has been found thus far to match up with an individual based on previous reports from the Paulding County Sheriffs Office.
