Ms. Sharon Katherine Irick, age 73, of Hiram, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Dekalb Medical Center.
Sharon was born on August 24, 1948 in Atcheson, Kansas to loving parents Mr. Joseph Lawrence Irick and Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Gregg. Sharon retired from TWA Airlines and worked as a secretary for the Georgia Department of Transportation in Cartersville for many years. She was of the Catholic faith.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Stephanie Reed and her husband, Mark of Hiram; two grandchildren, Brandon Ware and Kathryn Ware both of Hiram; three sisters, Carol Ann Irick of Defuniak Springs, Florida, Linda Welch of Levenworth, Kansas, and Yvette King of Kansas City, Missouri; and one brother, Mr. Joseph Irick Jr. and his wife, Angie also of Kansas City, Missouri. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Sharon is preceded in death by her beloved parents.
A memorial service for Sharon Katherine Irick will be held at the Chapel of Benson Funeral Home on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11 AM with Father Adrian Pleus officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 AM-11 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Sharon’s memory.
