Mrs. Shirley Gail Porter Wisener, age 67, of Rockmart, GA, the Yorkville Community of Paulding County, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Ga. with her family by her side.
Mrs. Wisener was born on December 24, 1954, in Austell, Ga. the daughter of the late Mr. A.C. Porter and late Mrs. Mary Lou Parker Porter. Shirley worked for the Dallas Housing Authority in the office for many years.
She was also retired school bus driver. She loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed watching her crime shows on tv or a good movie, going to the lake and shopping.
Shirley was always helping others. Shirley was very family oriented and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Mr. Gene Wisener; son, Mr. & Mrs. Brad (Carrie) Wisener, grandson, Mr. Taylor Wisener (Danielle), granddaughter, Miss Bralynn Wisener, great grandson, Rhett Wisener; siblings, Charles Porter, Linda Hendrix and Peggy Lancaster. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings, Joan West, Betty Jean Landers and Jerrie Beach.
In keeping with her wishes Shirley has been cremated and A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 6:00 PM at the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Tibbitts and Rev. Allen Crew officiating.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday March 2, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and Thursday March 3, 2022, from 5:00 PM until the hour of the service at 6:00 PM.
The family will be going to the Dallas Community Center located on Paulding Lane, Dallas, Ga. 30132 for a meal following the funeral service on Thursday March 3, 2022.
Flowers will be accepted, but anyone wishing to can donate to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Shirley. Those donations can be made at www.Stjude.org.
