Louise Black

Louise Black passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on April 14, 2022.

She was born on October 23, 1928 in Dallas, Georgia to the late Homer and Elo (Turner) Cochran.

Louise was a faithful member of Dallas First Baptist Church and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was known as the rock of the family where she was the best hostess and she cherished her time spent with family.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling with loved ones. Louise was the perfect wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed and continuously loved.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Oscar “Neal” Black; her son, Kenneth Neal Black; her daughter; Judy Marie (Paul) Laitinen; siblings, Felt (Ludie) Cochran, Mary (Clyde) Gurley, Isom (Shirley) Cochran, Albert (Inez) Cochran, Melrose (Lem) Gladney, Henry (Elsie) Cochran, Mazelle (James) Morgan, Christie (Emory Gordy) (Warren) McLendon, Janet (Robert) Tripcony, and Marie (Robert) Dial. She is survived by her sons, Charlie Black, Ben (Sandy) Black; grandchildren; Jimmy Bishop, Jessica Black, Charles Neal Black, Aaron (Jennifer) Black , Kellie (Khris) Edwards; great-grandchildren; Corbett Bishop, Chase Bishop, Conner Bishop, Luke Black, Jackson Black, Amelia Edwards, great-great grandchildren, Dustin Bishop, Coraline Bishop, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services for Mrs. Black will be held at Clark Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2:00pm with Reverend Todd Tibbitts and Charles Neal Black officiating. Following the service, Mrs. Black will be laid to rest at Dallas Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to First Baptist Church of Dallas, Georgia.
