An Alabama man died as a result of injuries sustained when he was killed in an accident early Saturday mornings, per information provided by the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office.

They noted in a release on social media and it was confirmed today by Sheriff Stacy Williams with an update today that Brendon James Poe, 22, of Fruithurst, Alabama, died as a result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a vehicle in the area of Arise Church on US Highway 78 early Saturday morning.

Haralson deputies responded around 5:30 a.m. to the scene, and requested the help of Georgia State Patrol, who took over the investigation.

Local officials worked with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office with assistance in identifying Poe on Saturday and notifying his family of what happened.

Law enforcement had not yet released additional details about how Poe was struck.

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 5:28 AM, deputies were dispatched to US Highway 78 in the area of Arise Church in reference to a traffic accident. Deputies on scene advised that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the roadway and requested the Georgia State Patrol. The Georgia State Patrol did respond and the accident scene and investigation was turned over to them, deputies remained on scene to assist.

The pedestrian was killed in the accident. The Haralson County Coroner’s Office worked to identify the pedestrian and we would like to thank Paulding County Sheriff’s Office for assisting with that. Due to ongoing notification of family, his name will not be released at this time.

The name of the deceased individual is Brendon James Poe, 22 yrs old from Fruithurst AL.
