Expect the commute home to be a wet and windy one as a cold front moves in and brings with it potential for severe weather, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City put Paulding and surrounding counties in the path for the potential for severe weather, with even the possibility of a tornado spinning up briefly in Northwest Georgia this afternoon.

A passing cold front is bringing this potential for strong storms as it encounters the warm air still sticking around from a beautiful and sunny weekend in Paulding County.

The forecast calls for a major shift in temperature on the day, with the high up to 76 on the day and the thermometer dropping down to 39 overnight.

The NWS is calling for rain chances to continue through the week, and by the weekend Polk County will be back to frigid temps. Expect sunshine to return by Sunday.
