The public and officials gathered on Monday evening to dump out the ceremonial first shovelful on the project during a groundbreaking ceremony for the new park on Harris Drive.

“This has long been a desire of the Mayor and Council, in order to honor all those who have courageously and selflessly served our country,” city officials posted this morning following the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday.

Representatives from the American Legion, VFW, State Representative New, State Representative Gullett, Senator Anavitarte, Incoming District Attorney Lane and Judge Rollins.
