Tools, TVs gotten by suspects who are being sought
Mark Sullins is a local business man who is annoyed, and is hoping the public will help in tracking down suspects whose theft late in the week left him looking for answers in a current Hiram whodunit.
Sullins posted on social media on Friday morning about the overnight theft at the new location of Big Doug’s Hiram – a property that was once the old Briarpatch – before he closed on the Atlanta Highway location in late July.
Renovations were ongoing inside as Sullins’ workers were getting ready for Big Doug’s Hiram to open in the coming months after just opening Doug’s Place in Emerson earlier this month.
Instead of getting the “warm welcome” he hoped at the new Hiram location, he instead got robbed.
He said it wasn’t much – tools and televisions – but the principle of the matter is more important.
Sullins is asking the public that if they know anything about the theft or can help identify vehicles that were seen on the lot late in the afternoon on Thursday, August 22 and around midnight on Friday. Three cars have been noted in total based on currently available information: a vehicle around 5:30 p.m. was in the lot on Thursday, then two more at 11:30 p.m. and midnight.
He said he’s working to gather more information as well from surrounding local businesses who might have surveillance with an angle.
Among the items taken were cordless drills and saws, tools used in demolition and televisions.
Those with information are encouraged to reach out to Sullins directly.
