A somber day is in store on Friday as the community is encouraged to grieve together and honor Deputy Brandon Cunningham ahead of and during funeral services coming up.

Officials on Wednesday evening released information about the processional route being utilized as a way to honor Deputy Cunningham after he was struck down in the line of duty last weekend.

The community is encouraged to line a route along Hiram-Acworth Highway near West Ridge Church on Friday as the procession leaves the church on Friday afternoon. The procession will follow a route along Dallas Highway as Deputy Cunningham is escorted to Kennesaw Memorial Park for graveside services.

No one in the public is welcome to graveside services, which are being reserved for friends, family and members of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.

Funeral services ending at 3:15 p.m. inside the church will move outdoors as a 21-gun salute and playing of taps will be followed by a flyover and ceremonial last call.

The procession is set to begin at 4 p.m.

The public is encouraged to watch the livestream of the service available at http://westridge.com/live or via the West Ridge Church Facebook page.
