Here’s a fun thing to do in downtown Dallas: stop in for a special snapshot to remember the day you spent on Main Street.
In recent days, Downtown Dallas announced on social media that a new Photo Booth was installed thanks to a partnership with Macon-based Fall Line Brewing on the courthouse square.
The new photo booth will be sticking around downtown and is already beginning to see folks stop in and take some shots with friends and family.
Main Street Manager Shannon Gordon said there have been 120 people who have used the photo booth since it was installed this past Friday, July 19.
Though it is $7 to use the Photo Booth downtown, it provides two strips of snapshots for the purchase. It is available at all hours, every day to create a memory, Gordon added.
“We hope that people will come downtown to shop small in our unique businesses and stop at the photo booth to document their visit,” she said.
How the whole thing came to be is a story in itself. Gordon explained that Fall Line Brewing reached out in 2023 to collaborate with the City’s Main Street program to bring the branded photo booth to Downtown Dallas.
“We worked with them to create the art that is on the exterior of the booth. The art reflects some of the landmarks and events that downtown is known locally for like the deer head building on South Main Street, the beautiful historic courthouse, food trucks for our locally famous Food Truck Fridays, and more,” Gordon said.
As it becomes a permanent fixture in Downtown Dallas, Gordon said there’s more in store for the future as a new feature to bring people onto Main Street.
“We have a lot of things planned for the photo booth from changing out the logo on the photo strip, to art competitions to repaint the exterior of the photo booth when needed, and so much more!” Gordon added.
Fall Line Brewing has other photo booths in partnerships around the state with Main Street programs including Macon, Milledgeville and Perry.
