Paulding County, GA — The Paulding County Government is warning residents and property owners of a recent scam that is targeting individuals who have requested rezoning or other property-related services. Scammers are using publicly available records to identify those who have interacted with the Paulding County Planning and Zoning Department and are attempting to defraud them by sending fraudulent emails.

These emails, which appear to be from Paulding County officials, request payments via wire deposit/transfer for services related to zoning and planning. Please be aware that these communications are not legitimate. Paulding County Government will never ask for payment through wire deposits or transfers.

Important Reminder:

• Official Paulding County Government emails will always come from an email address ending in “@paulding.gov.

• You will never be asked to make payments via wire transfer.

If you have received an email that you suspect to be fraudulent, do not respond, and do not provide any personal or financial information. Instead, please report the email immediately to the Planning and Zoning Department at zoning@paulding.gov.

The County is actively working with law enforcement to investigate these scams and ensure that residents are protected. The Paulding County Government advises all residents to remain cautious and informed to avoid falling victim to these fraudulent schemes.
