A new downtown business is celebrating their opening this year on Main Street in Dallas.

Ginny Bird opened their doors this week, and the Downtown Dallas Main Street Program gathered with family and friends of Avery Pope, who named the store after her grandmother.

“Ginny bird is named after our late grandmother Ginny Pope,” Pope was quoted on the Downtown Dallas Main Street Facebook page’s update on the store. “My grandpa nicknamed her Ginny Bird for her love of birds. She was crafty and inspired us it have an entrepreneurial spirit.”

The new women’s clothing boutique opened its physical doors in late 2023/early 2024, and offers a variety of styles and options for Paulding County shoppers. They’ve been selling items online in 2022 and in pop-up shops in Dallas and Rockmart in the following months once Pope saw success with a digital storefront.

The ribbon cutting ceremony gave Pope the chance to celebrate the store’s opening after serving customers for the past several months in Dallas.
