The Georgia State Patrol reported that a driver died on Tuesday in a wreck on Highway 278 in Paulding County.
Officials reported that the driver of a passenger vehicle – not named in their reported – succumbed to injuries sustained when rear-ending a tractor-trailer at the intersection with Bonnie Lane at Highway 278 eastbound on Tuesday morning.
Preliminary reports indicated that the tractor-trailer was making a u-turn from the westbound lane onto the eastbound portion of Highway 278 when the driver of the passenger car rear-ended the semi-truck.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was reported to have died on the scene.
The names of either driver were not released by the Georgia State Patrol at this time.
GSP’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team has taken over determining what happened for their official report, but it is not yet complete and it remains an ongoing investigation.
