Black made his debut in the late 80s and broke out on the country music scene in the early 1990s with is first album Killin’ Time with songs like “A Better Man” and “Killin’ Time,” and despite legal troubles his success grew throughout the 1990s as he put out additional albums, though some of his releases weren’t as popular as he was in the past as country music shifted in sound over time.
